The Confiance.ai community collaborates with EUROCAE to help define its developments and contribute to the new standards for ai-integrated systems
The Confiance.ai program is now a member of EUROCAE, the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment, and announces the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement follows close interactions already existing between the EUROCAE WG-114 working group in charge of the future European standard associated with AI and the Confiance.ai program teams.
The partners involved in the Confiance.ai program aims to create a technical environment to guarantee a high level of trust in critical services and systems based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through this collaboration, the Confiance.ai community and EUROCAE aim to exchange general and technical information, share expertise and eventually propose common recommendations. The trustworthy environment will be designed to meet the most advanced European standards on the subject, driven by the aeronautics sector.
Of course, the work carried out within the framework of the development of the trustworthy environment will be able to enrich and guide the development of these future standards which will emerge for AI-based systems, particularly in terms of methodology or performance metrology.
This aspect, which is devoted to the application and emergence of new standards, is dealt within the framework of the program’s “Strategies for the integration, verification, validation and qualification of systems for trust” and “Process and methodology for trust” projects. This compliance with the standards will guarantee the industrial scope of the developments of the trustworthy environment.
« At the forefront of standardisation, aeronautics is one of the key sectors addressed by the Confiance.ai community. We are happy to set up this partnership with EUROCAE, virtuous on both sides, on the subject of the standardisation of AI integration in systems», remarked Paul Labrogère, CEO of SystemX, the Institute of Technological Research leading the Confiance.ai program and signatory of the partnership with EUROCAE.
“Confiance.ai has very well identified the advantages Artificial Intelligence can bring to the industry and has a focus on critical systems. EUROCAE partnering with Confiance.ai will bring the needed expertise and know-how into EUROCAE´s standardisation process to further pave the way for a dependable integration into safety critical systems in aviation.” says Christian Schleifer, Director General EUROCAE.
This partnership with a key European standardisation body is the first signed by the Confiance.ai community, which intends to continue in this direction by forging collaborations with equivalent bodies in the field of autonomous vehicles, energy, defence, etc.
